Furion was formed in 2006. At first it was just Ivo Pavlovski and Milan Tasevski jamming in Ivo’s garage. As soon as they realized they have all the necessary potential they decided to try on their own and start a band in order to compose their own songs. The first idea that ran across their minds was the need to hire a bass player. In particular they thought of their friend Ante Gulin, who has already played in a few bands, but who also had no problem with committing to what would later become Furion. Second important thing was the drummer. They put an add on the internet and published it in some of the local newspapers and it was Marjan Srebrov who they met during the audition and instantly decided that he is the one who shall be the drummer of the band. Third, a vocalist. Ivo and Milan asked their friend Kalin Markovich to be the vocalist, all in accordance with their common taste in music. They began by rehearsing songs from other bands but later on they turned to making their own music. At first, it was the trash metal that they favored, yet again during the later period they decided not to submit to labels. The Macedonian folklore had great influence over their music, following the fact that all of the band members respect it and are fond of it. Today their music is a blend of macedonian folklore guitar scales and melodies with intense and full of energy progressive thrash metal drumming. Their main lyrical themes are war, society but they are also keen on singing about partying, common everyday life situations etc. They had their first gig at a local club, when celebrating 5 years of existence of the Macedonian Metal Fansite. During their two years existence they have played in Skopje as well as in other cities in Macedonia. Their greatest success so far is playing on WACKEN OPEN AIR festival as the representatives of the Metal Battle: Ex SFRJ Republics. The making of their first album is currently in progress.
