Film is a four piece alternative band from Athens- Greece. Formed back in 2001 by Kostas Borsis(drums), Dimitris Borsis (bass,guitar), Manwlis Zavitsanos (guitar) and Eleni Tzavara (vocals) the band shaped quickly it's particular sound, a mix of pop, post rock punk and cinematic tunes, collecting different kinds of influences. The band evolved quickly and became popular for their special live performances. 2 years of writing and experimenting resulted to Film's debut album ">/:no luggage" from Hitch Hyke Music in 2003. The album was highly accepted by critics and audience and the band started performing at the most important festivals in Greece sharing stages with big names like Placebo, the Flaming Lips among others. 3 years later the band signed with EMI Greece and released their second album "Angel B". The album received a warm welcome from the audience and raving reviews by critics. With a major tour in Greece (65 gigs) the band played again with major names like The Cure, Iggy Pop and the Stooges, New Order and a mini tour in UK, Spain and Switzerland while they joined some other festivals in Slovenia and Lausanne. Later in 2008 Film changed line-up listening to new singers to replace former member Eleni Tzavara. It didn’t take too long to adapt to the new scheme and the band will be working on that direction for the final decision. The band is currently working for the next studio project experimenting on a new sound that redefine their cinematic style, merged with new influences and elements.
