Veto's Info

bio

The beginnings of the band date back to 2005 when Danjel Cotic and Jakob Mozetic started on a new project and invited Jani Simcic, drummer, Bostjan Simcic, bass player, and two vocalists, Matej Cotic and Rok Buda, to join them. Before coming together, these musicians used to develop various musical styles, so a variety of views can be noticed within the band. Elements of hard core and rap interweave with a metal base (metal-rap-core). After half a year the drummer left and Samo Mrak (Entreat) took his place. This was also the period when the band started to cooperate with the Retrogarda studio for the on-stage video projection and video production. The band’s name was chosen – Veto. In the autumn of 2006 Rok Buda, the rap vocalist, left the band. At that time, the band gave many successful concerts all over Slovenia, and a demo CD with seven striking songs was released. At the end of 2007, Jakob, the guitarist, left the band, but two new members joined the rest of them: Sebastjan Sljivic (DJ Max) and Valter Lapanja (Valterap). This ongoing journey is a challenge for the band as a whole: only by being highly creative and in touch with its public, the band will be able to communicate their message. The lyrics are written in Slovene, the themes treat social problems, and the music is striking and varied in a way that the final product has a message. VETO – the right to objection. New material, which is to be presented in the second half of this year, is being prepared. Discography: VETO – Pravica do ugovora (The Right to Objection) (2005)
