‘Great guitar riffs mixed with powerful drumming. Strong, passionate vocals mixed with an effectively solid bass. 3 lads and a lady swapping vocal duties on songs with ease and showing a high degree of eclecticism. Catchy tunes to make anybody melt. A truly pleasant surprise….Simply fucking great!’ Emergenza festival 2008 Gloria Cycles are a four piece who hail from Brighton and their debut album, mixed by John Cornfield (Supergrass, Oasis, Joe Lean & Jing Jang Joel) will be released later this year preceded by a series of high energy and infectious singles! Having already supported Kid Harpoon, Tilly & The Wall, The Aliens and The Hours last year, the bands live presence is ever increasing. They have won over audiences where ever they have played and have broken through to the final stages of the Emergenza Festival contest where they will play the final in Rome. UK Festival dates already confirmed are The Great Escape, Liverpool Sound City, The Beachdown Festival in Brighton, The Offset Festival and the emerging Sugar Hill Festival amongst others. Gloria Cycles, alongside all of their eccentricities, have been described as 'perfect pop' with their brilliant and beautiful lyrics, catchy melodies and never-ending hooks. Far from being another run-of-the-mill indie guitar band, Gloria Cycles songs are as diverse as their characters and musical references. "I'm influenced by everything from elevator music to rave," says Kenny, who pens all the lyrics. "Via Dexy's Midnight Runners, The Cure, Supergrass, Randy Crawford, and My Bloody Valentine." The resulting tracks on Gloria Cycles' debut album stick two fingers up at classification, straddling everything from indie-rock to Northern Soul and 60s dancehall.
